Air conditioning contractor in Katy, TX

Katy is a large suburban city west of Houston along the Interstate 10 corridor, made up almost entirely of master-planned communities including Cinco Ranch, Kelliwood, Jordan Ranch, and Elyson. The housing stock spans from established 1990s neighborhoods with mature trees to brand-new construction on the city's western edge, which means AC equipment ages and duct configurations vary significantly from one subdivision to the next. Katy sits on the Katy Prairie, a flat, low-lying landscape with clay-heavy soils that hold moisture and contribute to high ambient humidity levels around homes. That persistent ground-level moisture means outdoor condenser units and refrigerant lines in Katy are exposed to humid air year-round, accelerating corrosion on coil fins and electrical connections faster than in drier climates.

Right-Sized AC for Katy's Prairie Homes and New Construction

Katy's master-planned communities were built in waves. Cinco Ranch and Kelliwood neighborhoods from the 1990s have systems that have run through many Houston summers, and their ductwork was designed for equipment that no longer exists. When we service or replace a system in these neighborhoods, we check that the new equipment matches the existing duct layout, because a mismatch causes poor airflow and humidity problems regardless of how good the unit is.

New construction on Katy's western edge in communities like Elyson and Jordan Ranch presents a different challenge: large, open floor plans that require careful load calculations to avoid oversizing. An oversized system in a new Katy home cools quickly but short-cycles, leaving the indoor air humid and the equipment wearing out faster than it should. Proper sizing at installation is the most important decision a new homeowner makes about their AC system.

We bring honesty and integrity to every job in Katy. You get a clear estimate before we start, a signed contract that defines the scope, and final payment only after the work is complete. We do not upsell services your system does not need.

Every service, available in Katy, TX

Air conditioning repair is a constant need in Katy's older master-planned communities, where systems installed in the 1990s and early 2000s are reaching the end of their service life. Air conditioning installation and sales are equally active on the city's western edge, where new construction in communities like Jordan Ranch and Elyson requires properly sized equipment matched to larger, open floor plans. Maintenance agreements are particularly valuable in Katy because the flat prairie terrain offers little wind to clear debris from outdoor units, making coil cleaning and drain line flushing essential seasonal tasks. Ductless mini-split air conditioning is a growing request for Katy homeowners adding casitas, workshops, or garage conversions that fall outside the reach of the home's existing duct system.

I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a professional and honest A/C repair service. Our outside unit was not working and our house reached 89 degrees. Mario was able to come out the same day I called him and get our unit working. We just bought our house last year and he was able to educate us on the age of our system and recommended when we should think about getting it replaced since we bought an older home and the outside unit is definitely aged. We have a home warranty program but in the future we will be calling Machorro Multiservices for our A/C needs.

This was my first time to work with Primo. They were on time as scheduled. They prepped the work area to protect the furniture and carpeting and cleaned up afterwards. they were professional, courteous, and knowledgeable about our needs and in the installation of our new unit. Should we have need for an additional unit in the future we will certainly use them.

Absolutely outstanding service from Primo Air Master. The first company we called said that the blower motor died and that our unit was too old to repair. They gave us an estimate for it to be completely replaced for $5500-$7500. We called Mario for a second opinion and he found that the blower motor was fine and that the problem was actually the capacitor. He made that repair and completed a summer service on the unit for a fraction of the cost. What stands out more than the repair and the cost saving is their INTEGRITY. They are experts providing legitimate repairs instead of companies scamming customers with unnecessary new equipment, expensive service plans, and working on commission. Additionally, they were responsive, timely, and friendly. Don’t be fooled by those larger companies because this smaller business will take better care of you.

Primo Air Masters has serviced my family's home for many years. Mr Mario Machorro and his staff has always done an outstanding job on my family's HVAC needs. The technicians are very professional and courteous, and they do an excellent job. I would highly recommend this company to my family and friends (and already have).

Air Conditioning Contractor FAQ for Katy, TX

Common questions from Katy, TX customers about our services, process, and coverage.

Homes in Cinco Ranch built in the 1990s often have systems that use refrigerants no longer in production, making repairs increasingly expensive as parts become scarce. If your system is frequently breaking down, struggling to maintain temperature on hot days, or using an older refrigerant type, replacement is usually the more cost-effective path. We will walk you through the numbers before you decide.

A system that runs constantly without reaching the set temperature is often undersized for the home's square footage and insulation level. In Katy's climate, where outdoor temperatures regularly exceed 95 degrees, proper load calculation at installation is critical. We can assess whether your equipment is correctly matched to your home and recommend the right correction.

Yes. A ductless mini-split air conditioner is the most practical solution for a detached or attached garage in Katy that is not connected to the home's existing ductwork. The system requires only a small penetration through the wall for refrigerant lines and can be installed without major construction.

Katy's flat prairie landscape means there is little natural airflow to clear debris and moisture from around outdoor condenser units. Combined with the area's clay soils that retain ground moisture, this creates conditions where coil fins and electrical connections corrode faster than in areas with better natural drainage and airflow. Annual coil cleaning and connection inspections are especially important here.
